Join Us

We are a volunteer led charity, and are always looking for more people to join us.

We have a large range of volunteers, including parents (both whose children are still participants, and whose children have grown up and moved on), students who are looking for experience for their studies, and people who would just like to give some time and have great fun in the process!

As a committee we plan and run fundraising events, which fund our activity weeks. We meet roughly every three months (slightly more often in the lead up to activity weeks in August), and we are always looking for more members.  Fundraising can be difficult, and so anyone who has creative ideas, or who is able to give some time helping at these events would be most welcome.

Working with us can provide valuable experience to support with a wide range of education programmes. We often have students who are taking courses in speech and language therapy, or psychology and who are looking for hands on experience to support college or university applications. Volunteering with us demonstrates patience, commitment and problem solving skills that are essential to any job, so volunteering with us will add to any CV.

We have also had younger students work with us for the volunteering component of their Duke of Edinburgh award.

Volunteer at any (or all!) of our three Friday clubs, and we provide the necessary dbs checks and safeguarding information. The same will be provided for the yearly activity weeks.

You don’t need experience with children or young people who have a communication difficulty to join us. All we ask is that you want to improve the life of a child or young person who has a speech and language disorder.

Why Donate?

Any donation, large or small, is greatly appreciated, and will go directly to improving the confidence and social skills of a child or young person with a speech and language disorder.
